We recently reached out to thousands of vacationers to acknowledge all the uncertainty in planning a summer vacation this year. Perhaps like some of you, many vacationers are being significantly impacted by the virus and its economic impact.

To tide vacationers over until a time when they can return to the Cape and Islands, we encouraged them to enjoy our “Daily Dose of Vitamin Sea” series (see the links below).

I thought you might be interested in reading a few of their heartwarming responses:

What a lovely message during this awful time.  You hit the nail on the head for me…the Cape has always renewed my spirit year after year for over 50 years. I am hoping to return yet again this year at some point.  Stay well.  This too shall pass!

I’ve been laid off, so a vacation rental will have to be shelved for another year.  But I am thinking of you and your colleagues who rely on the tourism industry, especially on Cape Cod, which is a place near and dear to my heart.  May we all get through this together and come out with a more united vision for America.

I get my Cape fix from your We Need a Vacation emails.  I look at all the pictures and dream a little dream and then go on with my day.

Oh, my gosh, thank you so much! I just signed up for your Instagram and Facebook pages. What a mental lifesaver this will be!

I live all year for my vacation on the Cape. It’s where my soul gets to rest. Right now I have to be a grown up and take care of my family. When this all settles down, I will be in touch. I am praying for all of us.

Sending our very fervent prayers to all of our friends, past, present and future on the Cape. We will do our best to stay healthy so we can return for our yearly memory-making!  As important as it is to be cautious, it is equally important to remember how to proceed with life!

I am a nurse practitioner, and life is a little hectic for me right now. But I will – with a little luck (and a lot of handwashing!) – make it through the next couple of months, and plan to head for the Cape late summer/early fall.

Boy, oh boy, do we ALL need a vacation.  Wishing you and yours well in these times of pandemic illness.
