We held another successful Cape & Islands Vacation Rental Conference on September 28th! In addition to networking opportunities with numerous vendors, attendees were treated to breakfast while they watched informative presentations followed by an insightful Q&A.

After Director of Client Services Samantha Williams’ warm welcome to the event, COO, Jim Reese, presented an overview of the 2024 rental season that included insights into vacationer demand, pricing, the handling of additional fees, the importance of the guest experience, and how WeNeedaVacation is evolving in the ever-changing STR industry landscape. See details in our 2024 Annual Fall Report.

Senior Marketing Manager Jennie Sparrow’s marketing presentation followed, which outlined the many digital and traditional marketing efforts WeNeedaVacation employs. Also covered were new marketing initiatives that included recent efforts to target rentals toward wedding guests, as well as guidance for homeowners on how to further their marketing efforts on their own or with the assistance of WeNeedaVacation.

Co-founders and owners Joan & Jeff Talmadge.

The presentations were followed with a lively and informational Q&A session.

One of the best Q&A sessions we’ve ever had!

Attendees walked away with our new, jute tote bags that contained our 2025 Pricing Report, as well as other fantastic swag provided by our long list of vendors: Mosquito Joe, The Steamship Authority, Pina Sanitation Services, The Sisters cleaning services, Cape Cod Linen Rental, Cape Light Compact, On Cape Home Watch, Gail’s Greeting Cards, Marsh McLennan Agency (Insurance), as well as representative Jan Kendrick, Esq. from Pierce Law.

We look forward to seeing everyone one again in the fall of 2025!
