With the 2012 Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket vacation rental season in full swing, we took an early peek at how bookings look compared to this same time last year. And, were we ever encouraged!  Bookings are already up 28% over last year for the full 2012 season.  It is too early to draw any firm conclusions, but it’s hard not to feel optimistic about the upcoming season.  We will continue to track bookings and other key measures as the season progresses. See our full press release.

Vacationers are booking right now. Be sure your listing is active and up-to-date.

Jeff Talmadge

My wife Joan and I created WeNeedaVacation.com in 1997, shortly after buying our Cape home. I worked in the Boston-area minicomputer industry for 18 years before striking out on my own as an independent software consultant in 1989. In 1997, with advances in Internet technology, we envisioned an innovative means of matching vacationers and homeowners more efficiently and inexpensively than ever before. Thus was born WeNeedaVacation.com. It has been the most challenging, fun, and gratifying job I have ever had. Doing it with Joan, two of our kids, and a remarkably talented and dedicated staff makes it all the more satisfying. Email Jeff

  • It’s been an amazing year for us. We are now totally booked from mid-July through Labor Day…and we’re happy to use the remaining weeks ourselves. In 20 yrs, we’ve never been booked so early – a few newbies but most are repeaters – always good to have.
And I must say, all but one are from weneedavacation.com.
Think of the hours I don’t have to spend talking to prospective renters all winter. Thanks!
