Attendance at last Saturday’s complimentary, annual Homeowner Forums in Brewster was the largest ever. And, judging by the spontaneous applause at the end of the two sessions, our homeowners enjoyed themselves as much as we did. In addition to the presentation by our staff, homeowners appreciate the opportunity to share questions, concerns, and rental business practices with their fellow homeowners.
The presentation included a general overview of the 2013 Cape and Islands vacation rental season and general marketing advice, particularly regarding the critical value of providing good pictures on a listing. But the main focus of the this year’s Forums has been on the growing impact of guest reviews on the vacation rental marketplace – and what rental homeowners need to do as a result.
Due to the growing popularity of the Cape Forums in recent years, they were expanded last fall from one session to two, and the venue was changed from the rental home of WeNeedaVacation.com owners, Joan and Jeff Talmadge, in Orleans to the more accommodating Cape Cod Sea Camps Art Center in Brewster. We were again fortunate this year to enjoy sunny weather with comfortable, seasonal temperatures.
The fifth and final Forum of the 2013 season will be held this Saturday, November 2nd at the website’s home office in Wellesley, and a capacity crowd is expected.
