Last weekend’s WeNeedaVacation.com Martha’s Vineyard Homeowner Forum was another great success! The weather on the Vineyard was quite mild and much sunnier than originally forecast. WeNeedaVacation.com owners, Jeff and Joan Talmadge, and I had a great time engaging with fellow homeowners there. It’s always a treat for us to finally meet some of our listers, many of whom we’ve spoken with for years and never met.
Although many Vineyard homeowners had already left the Island for the season, the Forum was well attended, including one couple from N. Falmouth who came over on the ferry to join us. The group seemed particularly engaged and attentive, asking great questions throughout, and also seemingly very happy to share experiences and advice with one another.
Oak Bluffs homeowner, Leah Brown, a particularly savvy and well-informed member of the group, was quite complimentary of the targeted results she gets from the WeNeedaVacation.com website, compared to other sites she uses to market some N. Carolina homes she rents as well. She is also a big fan of our Booking Management feature to retain and track her booking and tenant information.
Many great questions were asked, ranging from specific management techniques to pricing advice and tips about promoting vacation home rentals on the Island for the off-season.
We were fortunate, once again, to be hosted by Jani Gardner and Scott Tuttle at their unique, historic “Fourway” – a 100-year-old carriage house in Vineyard Haven with four charming apartments.
It was an added treat for me to be able to host Joan and Jeff at my Vineyard home for the weekend and share with them some of the magic of the Island in the fall. Witnessing the first two wins of the Red Sox post-season with them was an added bonus, too!
We and the rest of our WeNeedaVacation.com staff look forward to meeting many more of our homeowners at the upcoming complimentary Forums in Brewster on October 26th and Wellesley on November 2nd!
Oh, Martha’s Vineyard, what a nice place to getaway to! As a Minnesotan I’ve traveled out to Nantucket once, for a beautiful day of sightseeing, bikes, and beach – but haven’t gotten to the Vineyard yet. I imagine it’s a great place to rent a house for a getaway. Will definitely keep your site in mind when planning (hopeful) future vacation to this spot.
