Many of you with homes listed on our site are unaware of the many reasons why vacationers love our site – and one of them is our Events Calendar. Chock full of great ideas for all ages, the Events Calendar saves you time and effort each year so that you can inform your guests about all the fun things to do while they’re at your home.

What is it?

Our Events Calendar is updated every spring to provide accurate information about events occurring throughout the Cape and both Islands. Filters include:

  • Date ranges allowing visitors to view events happening during their stay
  • Categories such as food/wine, sports, family/children, etc.
  • Locations so they only view nearby events
  • Admission cost if any

Why is it helpful to homeowners?

We often remind homeowners that it’s not just your home that you are providing to vacationers, it’s their experience in it. As long as it’s clean and comfortable, your home can be small, modest, simple, even rustic and still provide a terrific experience for your guests. In addition to amenities on the property, giving them fun things to do in your area can guarantee their enjoyment, rain or shine.

And if they have a great time, they’ll write glowing guest reviews and return year after year!

How to share the Calendar with your guests

It’s a good idea to share the Events Calendar with your guests before they arrive so that they can make plans if necessary. You can simply share the url of the Events Calendar for your region (https://www.weneedavacation.com/Cape-Cod/Events, https://www.weneedavacation.com/Marthas-Vineyard/Events/ or  https://www.weneedavacation.com/Nantucket/Events/). Your guests can then filter it further by the other criteria if they wish. You can also access the information about events yourself and then simply inform each guest of what’s going on during the time of their stay.

Feel free to include the link in any of your correspondences prior to their arrival as well as in the Welcome Letter or Book that you leave in the house for them.

Elizabeth Weedon

Elizabeth Weedon - Although I’ve worked for WeNeedaVacation.com since 2008, I’ve been a loyal homeowner on the site since early 1998, just a few months after the website was launched by the Talmadges. I grew up summering on the Vineyard and managed my family's rental home there since the mid-1980’s. I’m passionately devoted to the Vineyard – and to WeNeedaVacation, which I credit with enabling me to hold onto the special property that has been in our family for nearly a century. An enthusiastic member of the WNAV Homeowner Support Team, I endeavor to keep my finger on the pulse of the Cape and Islands vacation rental industry so that I can provide homeowners advice about how to ensure their booking success with us. With owner Joan Talmadge, I am also responsible for editing and writing much of the text on our website, our monthly newsletters, and Homeowner Blog posts.
