About Us

In 1997, Joan and Jeff Talmadge created WeNeedaVacation.com to provide an innovative means of matching vacationers and homeowners more efficiently and inexpensively than ever before. Starting with just 100 listings on Cape Cod in 1997, WeNeedaVacation.com now lists more than 3,500 listings on the Cape, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Florida.

Our  state-of-the art technology, still the most advanced in the vacation rental industry, outperforms any other. Within minutes, prospective renters are reviewing properties that meet their critieria, including location, size, price, amenities, and dates. Vacationers can save their vacation requirements and results, returning time after time to continue their search. They can also record notes about rentals, rate them, and share favorites with family and friends. Hear what vacationers say.

But, as proud of our technology as we are, it’s not enough! We at WeNeedaVacation.com take equal pride in providing our clients with old-fashioned personalized service. For many homeowners, renting their home is a new experience, and it can be daunting. We have helped countless homeowners with issues of marketing and managing their rental homes.

The heart and soul of WeNeedaVacation.com is our amazing staff, who collectively have over 100 years of experience as vacation rental homeowners! We know your joys and pains and really care about making you as successful as you can be.

The Talmadges have been landlords since 1980, are lifelong New Englanders, and own a vacation rental home in East Orleans on the Cape. They know the Cape and Islands very well as both homeowners and vacationers.  They travel frequently to Florida, too, and never miss Red Sox Spring Training!

They and WeNeedaVacation.com have been featured on Chronicle, the award-winning evening magazine show on Boston’s Channel 5, WCVB-TV: “If you are looking to find your perfect hideaway for your next vacation, you want the Talmadges in your Rolodex… custom design your dream vacation home…” Joan and Jeff were also featured in the May/June, 2003 issue of Coastal Living and have been covered in numerous other news media.
