Welcome to Cape Cod Beach Buckets – A Perfect Partnership

Every summer, Cape Abilities, a non-profit organization, assembles and delivers over 30,000 Welcome to Cape Cod Beach Buckets.  These beach buckets go to families who are renting vacation homes on Cape Cod, and are filled with samples, maps, discount coupons, brochures, and a restaurant guide.  They provide an opportunity for both local and national companies to advertise their business to summer renters.

The most important thing that Welcome to Cape Cod Beach Buckets does, however, is to provide paid employment to people with significant disabilities.  Last summer, close to 70 people worked on some phase of the program.  Our participants assemble the beach buckets, collate the information inside, and deliver the beach buckets to over 100 distribution sights throughout the Cape.   Last summer, we logged 4200 miles on the roads of Cape Cod.

This summer will be the 5th year that Welcome to Cape Cod Beach Buckets and WeNeedaVacation.com will work together. We are very pleased with this relationship, and hope to expand our coverage to include vacation rentals on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard in the future.

All of us at Cape Abilities look forward to working with the homeowners at WeNeedAVacation.com this summer and in the years to come. Homeowners can begin picking up buckets in Hyannis or Brewster beginning May 25 and in Wellesley beginning June 4.
